BA Sport Star, aim for the stars!
BA Sports stands for “Barry Agar Sports”. Barry is our unique selling point. He has a wealth of experience in childcare and is specially trained in behaviour management as well as possessing various sporting qualifications. We believe that because of this we can offer a really high level of service.
Barry has a strong background in working with children and sports. As well as having three of his own children he has over 16 years’ experience of working with young people. He spent 10 years employed at a special educational needs school where he gained invaluable knowledge and skills that he is now able to implement and display in his own sports-based clubs and camps. During his time at this school, Barry worked with children that had high complex needs, such as, Autism, ADHD and Aspergers. He is therefore confident and capable of managing challenging behaviour. He is also qualified in ‘Team Teach’, which is a recognised de-escalation behaviour management tool. With a keen interest in physical exercise from an early age, Barry has excelled in Football, where he played semi-pro for a number of years. He is also particularly talented at Badminton – representing his county for some time. He is also proficient in Hockey, Dodgeball, Tennis, Basketball and Gymnastics among others.
Sarah has been a stay-at-home mum for the last six years. However, she previously enjoyed working as a corporate PA. She is now the mother of three young children – Lily, Elsa and Miles. Sarah is a firm believer in consistency, rules and boundaries. This ensures that all children feel safe when at home, camp or at school. These basic principles apply to every child throughout their daily routine. Sarah has a creative mind when it comes to Arts & Crafts, Baking and Imaginative activities. She is great at encouraging young people to develop strong relationships and friendships. Sarah has a loving, caring, and nurturing personality that makes children feel warm and welcome. She is able to draw on her own experiences of being a mum when her help is needed at camp. We feel that it is this that sets us apart from other camps – we are parents ourselves, and we really care about the children we welcome into camp.
